Conclusion. The Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM lens, like Canon's other pancake lenses, is mostly defined by what it isnât. It isnât super wide-angle or telephoto, it doesnât let you zoom, and it doesnât have a super-wide maximum aperture like most of Canonâs most esteemed prime lenses. As an EF-S lens, it's also incompatible with Canon

The ES-52 Lens Hood from Canon is designed to fit the Canon 40mm EF f/2.8mm STM, EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM, and EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lenses. The physical dimensions of the 12-24 ART are very similar to the chief competitor (the Canon 11-24mm), which is 4.3â/109.22mm x 5.2â/133.8mm and weighs 2.6lb/1180g. 2. Canon now makes two pancake lenses for the EOS mount. Both are just slightly wider than "normal", f/2.8, metal builds, and come with the STM focus motor. Both have reviewed quite well for sharpness and overall image quality; see the-digital-picture.com reviews for the 40/2.8 and the 24/2.8. The EF 40mm f/2.8 STM is for full-frame cameras.
The Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM has a great autofocus. But it has very limited manual focusing capabilities. Its autofocus system is quick and very accurate. And itâs responsive in very low light, too. Itâs better than youâd expect from an f/2.8 lens and better than the EF 24-70 f/2.8 II zoom lens at 40mm.

The 18mm of the Fake Leica brand is all plastic, it seems like a toy. You can still achieve good work with that lens but the price is crazy. I am selling it if you want it. The Canon 24mm pancake lens is made in Malaysia, it is all plastic but the price is cheap and the results are great.
